Reconstruction method for leaking dam of river dikes uses vertically digging appliance to dig longitudinal slot and fill it with vertical seal down to first water-containing layer

An almost vertical seal is built into the dam along its length. The seal has static support characteristics, and extends to the first water-containing layer. A vertically digging appliance continuously digs a slot in sections of the dam, while using a scavenger fluid with thixotropic characteristics, e.g. concrete, which remains in the slot while the drillings are removed.
