Method in which a user profile is determined for a large number of users and similarities between the users determined without use of preset similarity factors. The invention also relates to a corresponding data processing system and data processing program. Method involves: (a) calculation of suggestion requirements and as required calculation of a large number of similarity factors which measure the similarities between certain users in the form of evaluation values and then use of these values to link users (b) determination of a subset from a large number of users that represents similar users (c) suggestion of a number of articles on the basis of the similarity factors between the users.
