A thread is fed by a thread chute (15) to an axial conveyor (16). The chute which is leaned with respect to the warping direction, feeds several number of turns of the thread, which corresponds to preset warp length, to the conveyor. The chute is pulled out linearly, from the wound thread layer, after the completion of feeding of thread corresponding to the preset warp length. The thread is guided to the surroundings of a warping drum, through the chute which is leaned corresponding to the angle of inclination of conical portion of the warp group. The lead-out operation of the chute is synchronized with the guiding operation of thread. There is no relative movement between the chute and the conveyor, during thread-feeding by the chute. The conveyor is moved along the warping direction, to preset distance, after the chute is pulled out. An Independent claim is also included for warping machine for producing patterned warps.
