The material has a lattice structure (8) formed from warp threads (9) and weft threads (10). The weft threads are interconnected by knitting threads that are separately guided along the warp threads. The knitting threads form a stitch wale with connecting loops for receiving of the weft threads, such that the layer assignment of the warp threads and the weft threads remains constant. Warp threads lengths between the two adjacent weft threads are variable in a warping direction and a fill direction in the structure. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a thread layer sewing material.
