Bioreactor for culture of cells (2) comprises a sealed chamber (1) which is divided at each end by vertical partitions (5) into sub-chambers (6). Microporous horizontal capillaries (4) are mounted across the reactor so that they feed different solutions at different rates of flow to each of the sub-chambers.
