The modular type functional unit (1) is directly or indirectly, reversibly or irreversibly fitted to a single or multi-chamber fluid tank (2) and/or to the housing of a cleaning device in such a way that one, two, three or more direct or indirect as well as fluid carrying connections (6,11,13,16) are created between the functional unit on one side and the fluid tank and/or housing of cleaning equipment on the other side. The functional unit also has one or more pumps (3) and one or more devices (4) for the producing of steam and/or hot water, connections (5) to cleaning equipment, and multi-way switching units and/or mixing units (12).
