The exhaust turbine (2) has a turbine wheel (2.2) with wheel blade intake section located at a blade angle relative to the turbine wheel plane of rotation. The angle is dimensioned, so that turbine efficiency in the nominal point of the engine brake is smaller than optimum efficiency of the turbine. The angle is sized between 0 degrees and 35 degrees, especially 20 degrees and 25 degrees. The radial guide grid (2.1) and/or the semi-axial guide grid (2.7) are variable, and adjusted by a regulator device, or alternatively are non-variable. Auxiliary blades are located between the turbine wheel blades (2.6).
