Automatic deceleration triggering system for vehicle initiates deceleration to avoid collision or to reduce impact gravity with object using radar or light detector

Objects in the path of a vehicle are detected by means of signals from a device for transmitting and receiving radar or light detection and ranging signals or a device for receiving video signals. Potential danger is determined according to the objects detected. If a pre-determined potential danger threshold value (SW), which is less than the triggering threshold value (AS) for deceleration, is exceeded, devices for deceleration get ready to apply the brakes. An Independent claim is also included for a device for triggering and performing deceleration in a vehicle to avoid a collision or to reduce impact gravity with an object.
