Method for print machine control, especially for correction of incorrect settings and optimization of ink delivery at the beginning of a print job. Accordingly adjustment values for the ink delivery or dosing corresponding to ink strip width etc., are determined and transferred to the printer. Ink delivery is optimized using stored adjustment values from previous print jobs so that corrected values from a previous print job can be used as a start point for a current print job.
