The oscillation damper for check valves has an axially guided valve plate (2) seated over a valve (9) and with a hollow stem (6) in which is located a damping mass (8) which can freely axially oscillate between two damping springs (7) installed co-axially on each side of the mass and which are supported on the two inner end faces of the hollow stem. Alternatively, the valve plate stem may be solid with the damping mass and springs fitted around it co-axially.
