The device for the storing of especially reels of thread comprises a frame (11) and several pivotable tiers (13) installed one on top of the other and pivotable independently of each other in relation to the frame around a common axis (15). The frame comprises a base (17) and a cover (19) which are interconnected by several vertical struts (21,23), and the common pivot axis of the tiers coincides with one of the struts. Distance pieces (47) keep the tiers spaced apart.
