Dimensionally stable, unoriented composite film (I) comprises (a) a film with a thickness of 10-300 (pref. 50-250) mu m, made of a copolymer with a molecular wt. of 80,000-300,000, based on 20-30 wt.% butyl acrylate (BA), 5-10 wt.% methacrylic acid, 3-5 wt.% acrylate ester with 6 or more C atoms and 2-7 wt.% termonomers e.g. styrene and/or siloxane; and (b) an adhesive film with a thickness of 5-100 (pref. 20-50) mu m, made of a copolymer with a molecular wt. of 10,000-120,000, based on 30-50 wt.% BA, 5-10 wt.% acrylic acid and 1-5 wt.% termonomer e.g. styrene; with (c) a residual moisture content of not more than 5%. Also claimed is a process for the prodn. of (I).
