Granular catalytic composition comprises transition metal particles supported on a solid support. Granular catalytic composition comprises transition metal particles supported on a solid support which are adaptable to form a fluidized bed,the proportion of metallic particles being 1 - 5% and their mean dimension being 1 - 10 nm, as measured after activation at 750 deg C. An Independent claim is also included for the preparation of the composition.
