Production of diamond composite material comprises use of intermediate evolutionary chemical layer forming chemical links with substrate and diamond coating

The production of a diamond composite material incorporating a substrate, an intermediate layer and a diamond coating comprises successively: (a) the deposition on the substrate of an intermediate evolutionary chemical layer able during its evolution to engage some chemical links with the substrate and with the diamond coating; (b) surface treatment of the intermediate layer; (c) annealing of the substrate/intermediate layer assembly; and (d) the deposition of the diamond coating by chemical vapor deposition techniques. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) composite diamond coated materials obtained by the method; and (b) articles or components of this composite diamond coated material.
