摘要
The procedure for controlling the oxidization combustion of radioactive graphite from a nuclear reactor or contaminated with radioactivity involves adding one or more catalytic components to the surfaces of the graphite blocks (1) and carrying out combustion in a furnace (8) with an oxygen-rich atmosphere, to produce gases as well as cinders. The added catalytic components are selected from those containing alkaline and/or heavy metal elements that are efficient in lowering the temperature at which oxidation begins and/or a subsequent oxidation reaction.
