The mobile insulating unit has a variable-volume air diffuser (4) made up of two or more rigid modules (5, 6) with flat diffusion surfaces (7, 8) and porous to air. The modules can be moved relative to one another, and at least one can be inclined relative to a supporting frame (12). The modules have independent lateral surfaces forming separate inner volumes, and can be deployed or retracted to vary the area covered by their diffusion surfaces that project air downwards towards the floor.
