The brake pedal force simulator for a motor vehicle, has sensors to detect the brake pedal force application and a cylinder assembly (5) with a cylinder and piston (7) pivoted to a fixed wall of he vehicle bodywork. The cylinder contains two helical springs, each compressed by movement of the piston and with increasing resistance to brake pedal movement, also causing a pneumatic resistance to the pedal.
