PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure heating capacity by preventing reduction in the heating capacity of an air conditioner when stopping an engine stopped/ started without operating an ignition key. PSOLUTION: This automatic stopping/starting control device for the engine has the engine and the air conditioner for air-conditioning the inside of a cabin by using cooling water or driving force of the engine, and can stop/start the engine without operating the ignition key, and is provided with a control means for controlling so as to continue stopping of the engine while an automatic stopping duration of the engine is shorter than an automatic stopping performing time upper limit value set according to an inlet air temperature of the air conditioner after automatically stopping the engine when a preset automatic stopping condition is realized.
