PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new photosensitizer having an optical absorption wavelength region suitable for use in photodynamic therapy and excellent singlet oxygen generation efficiency.;SOLUTION: The photosensitizer for photodynamic therapy is composed of a doubly N-confused porphyrin metal complex represented by formula (I) [wherein, M denotes a metal selected from Ag, Pd, Ru, Pt, Au, Ni, Cu or Ir; Rs denote each a halogenated phenyl group selected from a pentafluorophenyl group, a trifluorophenyl group, a difluorophenyl group, a pentachlorophenyl group, a trichlorophenyl group or a dichlorophenyl group; and R¹ denotes a hydrogen atom, a hydroxy group, a 1-4C alkoxy group or an alkoxyalkoxy group represented by an O-(CH₂)_n-O-(CH₂)_mCH₃ (wherein, n denotes an integer of 1-3; and m denotes an integer of 1-2)] or a position isomer thereof.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
