PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorized Actinidia polygama having good flavor by removing undesirable odor of Actinidia polygama while effectively retaining an useful ingredient of Actinidia polygama and to provide a method for producing the deodorized Actinidia polygama.;SOLUTION: The deodorized Actinidia polygama having good flavor is obtained by extracting Actinidia polygama or the foliage of Actinidia polygama with an organic acid or an organic acid-containing liquid at 10-80°C, by selectively decreasing ingredients such as actinidine and matatabilactone while effectively retaining ingredients, etc., having nourishing/nutritional ingredients and pharmacological action which Actinidia polygama contains to remove the undesirable odor of Actinidia polygama. Citric acid or citrus fruit juice is used as the organic acid or the organic acid-containing liquid. The deodorized Actinidia polygama has excellent effect capable of converting e.g. calcium abundantly contained in Actinidia polygama to solubilized calcium in addition to effect capable of directly retaining ingredients, etc., having nourishing/nutritional ingredients and pharmacological action even after carrying out deodorizing treatment.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
