PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decompose carbon dioxide at a low cost while reducing energy loss, and to produce gases containing hydrogen while decomposing carbon dioxide.;SOLUTION: The carbon dioxide decomposition apparatus is provided with a combustion chamber 1 with a passage cross-section area reduced from one end toward the other end; an ignition chamber 4 supplied with fuel and an oxidizing agent; multiple guide passages 2 branched from the ignition chamber 4 and extending to communicate with one end of the combustion chamber 1; a reaction chamber 11 connected to the other end 1B having the minimum passage cross-section area of the combustion chamber 1, and containing the gaseous mixture of carbon dioxide-containing gases, a reaction substance and steam for impact compression; a carbon dioxide-containing gases supply device 14 supplying carbon dioxide-containing gases to the reaction chamber 11; a reaction substance supply device 15 supplying the reaction substance to the reaction chamber 11; and a steam supply means 16 supplying steam to the reaction chamber 11.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
