PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic shock treating machine and an ultrasonic shock treating apparatus for obtaining a surface layer having nano-crystal structure and having various kinds of characteristics, for efficiently obtaining these surface layers and for obtaining high fatigue resistant characteristic.;SOLUTION: This ultrasonic shock treating machine is composed of: a transducer for generating the ultrasonic wave; a wave guide fitted to the front part in the transducer and for guiding the ultrasonic wave to the front part; and a head. The head is fitted to the tip end part of the wave guide and is provided with: a pin oscillating with the ultrasonic wave; a pin rotating means for rotating the pin; and a holder for holding the pin. Desirably, in the above wave guide, a plurality of transducers are arranged, or the pin of the head has adjusted hardness, material and shape. The ultrasonic shock treating apparatus is provided with the ultrasonic shock treating machine and a means for rotating and shifting the ultrasonic shock treating machine or a metallic powder supplying means, a heating means and a shield gas supplying means.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
