PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a meat identification method for accurately and surely identifying to which part meat corresponds, and precisely performing sorting work with respective parts. PSOLUTION: The detecting light B projected from a detecting light irradiator 3 and a radioactive ray D radiated from a radioactive ray irradiator 5 are radiated to chicken A carried by a carrier conveyor 2. The reflected light C reflected by the chicken A is imaged by an imaging camera 4, and a transmitted image of the radioactive ray D transmitted through the inside of the chicken A is imaged by an imaging camera 6. To which part the chicken A corresponds is individually and comprehensively determined by algorithm of a part determining device 7 on the basis of image information outputted from the imaging cameras 4 and 6.
