PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a supplement for plants for preparing strong plant bodies not damaged by insect pests, weeds and pathogenic fungi for plants, and to provide a method for supplying the supplement to plants, a method for sterilizing soil and a method for removing weeds. PSOLUTION: The supplement for plants is obtained by coating the surface of sodium chloride with a component containing any one of natural magnesium chloride, natural potassium chloride and natural sodium chloride, and the component may contain a citrate and saccharides. The supplement for plants is sprayed, or rice bran is scattered to a paddy field and then the supplement for plants is sprayed, or the rice bran is previously mixed with the supplement for plants and the mixture is mixed with soil.
