PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a microencapsulated dye capable of preparing, with high efficiency, an inkjet recording ink which excels in dispersibility, dispersion stability, and discharge stability, excels in the fastness, rubbing resistance, and color developability of an image, and can obtain prints having a high printing density and difficulty in bleeding of the image.;SOLUTION: This method for preparing the microencapsulated dye by coating an anionic dye with a polymer comprises a step (A) of adding a cationic polymerizable surface active agent having a cationic group, a hydrophobic group, and a polymerizable group to an aqueous medium dissolving an anionic dye so as for the molar amount of the cationic polymerizable surface active agent to come to 0.5-2 times the total molar number of the anionic group in the anionic dye and fixing the cationic polymerizable surface active agent to the anionic dye and a step (C) of adding an anionic-polymerizable surface active agent having an anionic group, a hydrophobic group, and a polymerizable group and/or a hydrophilic monomer having an anionic group to an aqueous medium to mix them and adding a polymerization initiator to the resulting mixture to perform emulsion polymerization.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
