PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain space saving, improvement in performance, and electricity saving. PSOLUTION: The information processing device comprises a switching unit 517, a CPU 515a, and a cache memory 515f. The switching unit 517 is provided between a personal computer unit 520 and a shared HDD 540, and between a gateway card 510 and the shared HDD 540. The CPU 515a controls to connect the switching unit 517 to the personal computer unit 520 and the shared HDD 540 when working condition of the personal computer unit 520 is a first working condition (usually electric power mode), and controls to connect the switching unit 517 to the gateway card 510 and the shared HDD 540 when working condition of the personal computer unit 520 shifts to a second working condition (electric power saving mode) from the first working condition. The cache memory 515f conducts caching of data communicated between the gateway card 510 and the personal computer unit 520, and performs communication processing of the data and access processing to the shared HDD 540 in parallel.
