A switching section is provided between a personal computer, a gateway card, and a common HDD. A CPU controls the switching section so as to connect the personal computer and the common HDD when the personal computer is in a normal power mode. The CPU controls the switching section so as to connecting the gateway card and the common HDD when the personal computer shifts to a power-saving mode.
