PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for driving a ferroelectric liquid crystal display panel adapted to formation of a moving image and to provide an electric field alignment method applied to the same.;SOLUTION: The method and device for driving a ferroelectric liquid crystal display panel and the electric field alignment method applied to the same comprise a step of making the temperature of a ferroelectric liquid crystal substance sufficiently lower than a phase transition temperature to impart a smectic C phase to the ferroelectric liquid crystal and a step of applying an electric field to the liquid crystal display panel to align the ferroelectric liquid crystal substance.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
