PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for withstand voltage testing an insulating strand article which can easily test withstand voltage characteristics of the insulating strand article over an overall length.;SOLUTION: A voltage applying section 22 is set to a site for applying a voltage to a pair of voltage applying rollers by sandwiching a predetermined position of the insulating strand article 2 between a pair of the voltage applying rollers. A current pickup section 21 is set to a site for measuring current flowing in a pair of current detecting rollers by sandwiching a position separated at a predetermined distance from at least one of the front and the rear of this voltage applying section 22.
