TEXT SUMMARY SYSTEM, TEXT SUMMARY METHOD AND TEXT SUMMARY PROGRAM

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a text summary for generating a summary of good quality in a short time. PSOLUTION: A summary constitution unit authorizing means 101 authorizes a unit with a clause including a predicate as a minimum, as a summary constitution unit by applying language knowledge information 104 for summary constitution unit authorization to each sentence of an input text. An importance computing means 102 for the summary constitution unit computes the importance of each summary constitution unit in a text using information on the position of the summary constitution unit in the text, a keyword, a title, the importance of a word, or the like as a key. Based on the importance of each summary constitution unit, the summary constitution units are sequentially extracted from the summary constitution unit of highest importance until reaching a summary length requested by a user. A summary result output means 103 arranges the extracted summary constitution units in the order of appearance of the original text and outputs it as the summary result. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
