PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly reflect modification in a plane view onto an elevation view.;SOLUTION: The plane view is prepared, and the first elevation view is automatically generated based on height information or the like of drawing elements in the plane view. It is revision-corrected to be edited, and the first elevation view after the edition is completed. The first elevation view after the edition is saved in a storage unit by an evacuation means. Then, the plane view is modified to generate automatically the second elevation view based on the plane view after the modification. When a user assigns a closed area corresponding to a modified portion in the plane view, in the first elevation view after the edition, a CAD system specifies a corresponding area corresponding thereto in the second elevation view. Then, the CAD system deletes an inside of the closed area in the first elevation view after the edition, deletes an outside of the corresponding area in the second elevation view, and combines the first elevation view and the second elevation view deleted after the edition.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
