PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric equipment lifetime estimation method which enables the lifetime of an electric equipment to be easily estimated and a computer readable recording medium in which a program for determining the lifetime of the electric equipment is recorded. PSOLUTION: Paper 1 as a temperature history indication member is stuck on the surface of a winding 2 of the electric equipment (transformer), and the lightness of the paper 1 is measured. The remaining lifetime of the electric equipment is calculated from the measured value, using a characteristic expression (Arrhenius plot) expressing the relationship between predetermined paper lightness and the lifetime of the electric equipment.
