PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convert MIDI music data (a) which are produced for a certain source A into MIDI music data (b) optimized for another sound source B.;SOLUTION: This is a method for converting the MIDI music data (a) into the MIDI music data (b) and generates the MIDI music data (b) through the step for preparing a musical instrument correspondence table where respective musical instruments of the sound sources A and B are made to correspond to each other and a sound volume conversion table where set sound volume values for mixing the control and auditory sound volume values of the respective musical instruments of the sound sources A and B are made to correspond to each other and converting set sound volume values of the respective channels of the MIDI music data (a) into visual sound volume values, a step for obtaining the ratio of the visual sound volume values of the respective channels as a sound volume balance, a step for allocating proper musical instruments of the sound source B to the respective channels of the MIDI music data (a), and a step for matching the auditory sound volume values of the musical instruments for the sound source B, allocated in the mentioned step with the sound volume balance and converting the visual sound volume values of the respective channels into sound volume set values.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
