PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily prepare a portrait through a little operation of feature points by reducing the complexity of work for previously registering plural parts. SOLUTION: Concerning this portrait preparing method, a face image is inputted (S1), the area extraction of face parts and the specification of positions are performed (S2), hair and the outline of a face are extracted and preserved in a database (S3 and S7), the classes of face parts are discriminated (S4), the feature points from two to ten for the face parts of eyes, eyebrows, nose and mouth are extracted and preserved in the database (S5 and S6), the hair and outline of the face are plotted (S8) and the face parts are plotted on them (S9 and S10) so that the portrait can be prepared.
