PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique related to a Doppler-type ultrasonic flowmeter, which determines whether a flow having a negative flow velocity value exists, and which extends the range of measurable velocities when the negative value does not exist.;SOLUTION: It is constituted so that the range which cannot be measured due to the restriction on hardware is treated as the range which can be measured by software. Namely, a flow velocity range switching means is provided, which doubles the measurement range of the positive flow velocity for the fluid velocity distribution measurement means, according to the selection of a user, when the user confirms that the negative value does not exist in the flow velocity distribution by perusing the flow velocity distribution and the zero point. When it is switched by the flow velocity range switching means, a flow velocity distribution output means outputs only the positive flow velocity distribution, and the flow velocity distribution measurement means measures the flow velocity distribution on the basis of the doubled measurable velocity.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
