PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for automatically summarizing guide map information aiding navigation for guiding a user to a destination. ;SOLUTION: An input reception processor 11 receives a survey data 22 (current position, end position, output size and map kind) and inputs the map data 21 of a processing object area. If the map kind is a path guide map, a land mark in the vicinity of each node on the path is extracted and if the map kind is an area guide map, a land mark included in each block separated for the processing object area in accordance with the scale is extracted out of the map data 21. Based on each land mark area and circumference length, a specified number of land marks is selected.
