PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform preparatory discharge necessary for a coating surface always held to a clean and dry state by utilizing a rotary roll.;SOLUTION: This preparatory discharge apparatus is equipped with a liquid storage tank 10 for storing a washing solution 14, the belt 1 exposed from the washing solution 14 on its upper side and immersed in the washing solution 14 on its underside, one set of support rolls 2 and 3 for driving the belt 1, the doctor 5 arranged in the washing solution 14 so as to rub the outer peripheral surface of the belt 1 within the washing solution 14 and a doctor 7 arranged outside the washing solution 14 so as to rub the outer peripheral surface of the belt 1, which is rubbed with the doctor 5 in the washing solution 14, outside the washing solution 14. The tip of the discharge part of a coating head 16 is allowed to approach the upper outer peripheral surface of the belt 1 to discharge a coating solution 15.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
