TWO-DIMENSIONAL POLYMER THIN FILM OF FULLERENES AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new technology capable of preparing a thin film (microfilm) consisting of a polymer of fullerenes. PSOLUTION: A method for manufacturing the polymer thin film of fullerenes comprises the steps of: adding the fullerenes (for example, CSB60/SB) dissolved in an organic solvent (for example, chloroform) on the surface of water to form a thin film of fullerenes; irradiating the thin film of fullerenes formed on the surface of water with ultraviolet rays under a non-oxygen atmosphere to form the thin film consisting of the polymer of fullerenes; and transferring the polymer thin film of fullerenes to a substrate. There is obtained a thin film consisting of a two-dimensional polymer of fullerenes typified by CSB60/SB. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
