PURPOSE: To provide a method and a device for losing a model from a casting mold, by which the removal of the model can be executed while preventing the development of crack and the breakage of the mold in extremely simple method. ;CONSTITUTION: In the method and the device for losing the model from the casting mold, in which the model is lost by heating from the mold formed by making the model composed of a lost foam material as the nucleus, digitiged data of the model shape, model material and molding material are inputted at first, and heating time reference data are read out from a heating time reference data storing means 5 based on the inputted data. Successively, a performed temp.-heating time characteristic is obtd. from the volumes of the model and the mold based on the heating time reference data.
