PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the new subject antibody having reactivity with cholesterol ester transfer protein contained in the plasma of a healthy man, a hyperlipidermia patient, a LCAT-defective disease patient or a high HDL blood disease patient, and useful for measuring the protein, treating and preventing arterial sclerosis, etc. ;SOLUTION: The new monoclonal antibody has reactivity with CEPT in the plasma of a healthy man, a hyperlipidermia patient, a LCAT(lecithin cholesterol acyltransferase)-defective disease patient or a high HDL(high specific gravity lipoprotein) blood disease patient, does not react with a rabbit-originating CEPT in a concentration of 3g/ml, does not express a specific reactivity with a modified human CETP, and is useful for simply and highly sensitively measuring the CEPT and for medicines for treating and preventing various kinds of diseases such as hyperlipidermia, high HDL blood diseases, high cholesterol blood diseases and arterial sclerosis, etc. The antibody is obtained by administering the purified human CEPT in a mouse, collecting the splenic cells, fusing the splenic cells to myeloma cells, cloning the fused cells and subsequently culturing the cloned cells.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
