PURPOSE: To judge whether or not a document type is adequate by inspecting whether or not evaluation stops when a document is generated by evaluating the document type. CONSTITUTION: A retrieval expression generated by a query editor 1 is converted by a retrieval expression generation part 2 into a retrieval expression in the format that can be executed by a retrieval evaluation part 3. A document type (schema) generated by a document type editor 4, on the other hand, is registered by a document type generation part 5 in a data dictionary 7 through a document type management part 6. This retrieval expression is passed to the document type management part 6 and a document having elements meeting the specified conditions is retrieved. The document type management control part 6a of this document type management part 6 accepts an element of storage, retrieval, or verification to call a document type retrieval part 6c for the retrieval or a document type verification part 6b for the verification. When the document is created by evaluating the document type, it is inspected whether or not the evaluation stops and when not, it is judged that the document type is inadequate.
