PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability of the navigating/positioning accuracy and navigation/positioning of a GPS receiver. ;SOLUTION: When the position of a user having a GPS(global positioning system) receiver and the initial estimated value of a clock error are set (step S11), the GPS receiver sets the parameter value indicating the state of its own device (step S12), acquires the observation data of all visible GPS satellites (step S13), and evaluates a Lagrangian factor term (step S14). Then the receiver successively solves navigation equations based on the evaluated results (step S15) and sets the status parameter of its own device by performing the processing in the step S12 based on the calculated results of the equations.
