To provide a GPS receiving device, a GPS receiving method, and a GPS receiving program for suppressing power consumption.SOLUTION: The GPS receiving device includes: a GPS receiving section 30 that performs positioning using ephemeris data received from each GPS satellite and calculates a current position; and an arithmetic processing section 20 for outputting positioning information indicating a current position based on the positioning data indicating the calculation result of the GPS receiving section 30. The GPS receiving section 30 outputs data on GPS satellites in which ephemeris data is valid as satellite information. Upon receipt of the satellite information from the GPS receiving section 30, the arithmetic processing section 20 detects the number of satellites in which the ephemeris data is valid based on this satellite information and makes the GPS receiving section 30 sleep. After the elapse of the sleep time determined from the detected number of satellites, the arithmetic processing section activates the GPS receiving unit 30 and outputs the next positioning information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
