PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to measure with high sensitivity by immobilizing physiologically active substance coupled with luminous reagent to the surfaces of magnetic particles having conductivity. ;SOLUTION: Physiologically active substance 3 is immobilized to the surfaces of metal fine particles 1 via the spacer 2 of organic compound. The substance 3 forms specific composite material with specific substance such as antigen, enzyme, antibody, hormone receptor, or deoxyribonucleic acid. When fine particles 1 re dipped in solution containing antigen 4, immunoreaction occurs on the metal surface, and composite material of the antibody and antigen is formed. When the particles 1 immobilized with the antigen 4 are further reacted with the antibody 3 labeled with luminous reagent 5 and immunoreaction takes place, reagent 5 can be introduced to the surfaces of the particles 1. As the reagent 5, tris(bipyridyl)ruthenium or its derivative can be used. Thus, the substance 3 can be detected by using the particles 1 finally immobilized with the reagent 5 via the reactions of a plurality of stages.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
