PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminescent tube for facilitating startup without its going light-off, even if a mercury lamp stabilizer for lighting is used, maintaining stable discharge, inhibiting lowering of a lumen maintenance factor, and to provide long service life with stable characteristics.;SOLUTION: The light transmissive ceramic luminescent tube is sealed with an argon gas of 4.5 kPa or higher, cesium halide of 0.5 mg/cc or higher per tube content volume and metallic holmium. The luminescent tube having the above filled materials is supported inside an outer bulb, a startup assisting conductor is provided therein, so that a tube wall load F is set to -0.0067 W+40≥F≥-0.02 W+30 (W/cm2).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
