PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a position with high accuracy regardless of actuating accuracy of a moving means. ;SOLUTION: A jig plate 4 and a base board P are fixed together, and a pair of marks M of the base board P are moved so as to enter an image pickup area of a pair of image pickup means. An image of the nmarks M and reference holes A1 is picked up, and respective central positions are calculated. As a result, the relative positional relationship between the base board P and the jig plate 4 can be known. That is, how much a straight line connecting the mutual marks M is dislocated to a straight line connecting the mutual centers of the reference holes A1 can be known. Next, the base board P is moved so that reference holes A2 enter an image pickup area of one image pickup means. Positions to be bored are positioned in the reference holes A2. An image of the reference holes A2 is picked up, and its central position is found.
