PURPOSE: To obtain a drug or quasi-drug having hypotensive action and an action for suppressing the neutral fat concentration in blood by using tea grounds hitherto discarded as industrial wastes. ;CONSTITUTION: Tea leaves are extracted with water or hot water and the extraction residue (tea grounds) is dried with hot water of about 80-100°C to a water-content of about 3-6%. The dried product is crushed to particles of ≤0.5mm and sieved. The powder is adjusted to a proper concentration and mixed into a daily food or feed. The hypotensive effect and the effect to suppress the neutral fat concentration in serum can be attained by taking the food, etc.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
