PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems wherein fossil fuel and electricity are now used for heating to increase carbon dioxide causing fear of global warming, while utilization of waste lumber, thinned wood and used books as wastes is desired. ;SOLUTION: Waste lumber and used books are subjected to slow burning in a brazier under heat insulation and moderate aeration, in which a potential heat quantity is used with high efficiency, and wood vinegar is also extracted. Electric heating for ignition is also used for heating to cause no loss. For application to a large heating appliance, the burning method is suitable for an agricultural plastic greenhouse or the like requiring long continuous heating.
