Preparation and use of nucleic acid Fragments are used to alter the phenotype of Oils in plants. Construction of recombinant DNA incorporating these Nucleic Acid fragments and suitable Regulatory sequences to create transgenic plants with altered Lipid Profiles.It also describes methods to alter the phenotype of Oils in plants using these Nucleic Acid Fragments.The isolated fragment comprising a sequence of nucleotides, Nucleic Acid selected from the group consisting of: (a) a Nucleic Acid Sequence encoding a polypeptide which is Fifth type Transcription Factor activity of HAP2.Where the fifth polypeptide shows at least 70% Identity on the basis of the method of Clustal alignment when compared with a Sixth polypeptide selected from the group formed by the SEQ ID no: 2, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60, 62, 64, 66, 68, 70, 72, 74, 76, 78, 80, 82, 208, 210, 212, 214,Or 216; (b) a Nucleic Acid Sequence encoding a polypeptide that has activity of Seventh hap5 type transcription factor, where the Seventh polypeptide has at least 80% Identity on the basis of the method of Clustal alignment when compared with a or Ctavo polypeptide selected from the group formed by the SEQ ID no. 84, 86, 88, 90, 92, 94, 96, 98, 100, 102,104, 106, 108, 110, 112, 114, 116, 118, 120, 122, 124, 126, 128, OR 221; or (c) a Nucleic Acid Sequence encoding a polypeptide that has activity hap3 Seventeenth type / lec1,Where the Seventeenth polypeptide shows at least 70% Identity on the basis of the method of Clustal alignment when compared with an Eighteenth polypeptide selected from the group formed by the SEQ ID no. 130, 132, 134 and 136.
