"Adipose tissue-derived stromal cells, compositions and methods for the use of such cells in the treatment and repair of any defect associated with the eye tissue". The invention provides compositions and methods for the use of adipose-derived stromal cells for the treatment and repair of any ocular tissue-associated defect, including but not limited to those secondary to trauma, metabolic disorders, birth errors, or surgery. Adipose tissue-derived stromal cells are cultured in the undifferentiated, differentiated or adipocyte state, either alone or in the presence of biocompatible material. The resulting materials are surgically employed to correct various intraocular defects.
